    Closer ... ???

I noticed Russel said he saw this and am curious as to what he or anyone else thought of this film. I have mixed feelings about it myself. It was based on a play so it was very wordy and because of that seemed to drag. Strange thing is, I do enjoy the occasional stage play, but they don't always transfer well to the screen. I managed to get through it, but you couldn't pay me to sit through it again. But I have to admit the acting was excellent, and was quite surprised by Natalie Portman's performance.
BTW, this is not a family film.

I saw it George. Well, your right, it was a wordy film. I think the uneducated person would walk out after 5 minutes of this madness. I bought this film because Julia was in it. Even so, I doubt I will watch it again anytime soon. I do agree that Natalie put on an outstanding performance, perhaps even upstaging Julia in a way. I did enjoy the film, but at times it did go on and on and we the audience were looking for some "closure".

We really liked it. Loved the ending, but the movie is NOT for everyone, especially anyone under 18 maybe 21.

Portman's role was a bit surprising, but overall I thought the movie was very well acted.

      I'd say its a solid 3 out 5 stars.

Yeah, my daughter was asking about seeing it, she's 19, and I didn't want her to watch it really. Not sure she understood why. Of course, she might watch it anyway, without my consent, not much I can do, but I don't have to recommend it to her.

Yeah, I wouldnt want my 19 yr old watching it. Course I have 10 years before thats even possible, but never the less your right there isnt much we can do at that point, if they want to do something bad enough at that age it makes it hard to eliminate the possability.
