    Upcoming Titanic SE details

sorry it's a bounce link but thedigitalbits documents it best...have a look:

    http://www.thedigitalbits.com/mytwoc...00.html#titanc

it will be available in 2-disc and 4-disc anamorphic ala Lord of the Rings Extendeds.

I knew my procrastination would pay off :B

    4-disc....here I come :T

Allright! :B I've been waiting a long time for this one.

And with an October release, if all goes well it may likely coincide with, or follow shortly thereafter, the unveiling of my new home theater.

What's interesting is Titanic (the original laserdisc edition) was the movie that inspired my round of HT upgrades in the 1999-2000 time frame. Now I'll be able to enjoy an upgraded version of the DVD to go along with my 2005 HT upgrades resulting from the fire.

Suuure, Chris, blame the in-laws... :B

You know THEY would have given you the pan & scam version! Oh wait, there isn't one of Titanic.

I haven't gone beyond owning the laserdisc and I'm not sure I will even go for the anamorphic new dvd. The only real thing I like about Titanic is the effects and the sounds during the sinking and I can still get that off my LD. A far better movie, and probably closer to the truth, is a B&W English film called A NIGHT TO REMEMBER. I have played TITANIC twice but have played the previous mentioned titled several times. It is a better story with more realistic characters and with much better acting to boot.

You are so right, Sir George: A Night To Remember is the superior Titanic movie (and it's a Criterion no less) - although the break-up, sinking and aftermath are spectacular enough in the remake to make it worth owning for me.

Yep, that's the one, Tex. Gorgeous B&W transfer.

                    Titanic III sub kits
                    by pistolpete
Anyone have any of the Dayton Titanic III kits? I have the 10" and the 15". Ten flat out rocks, but the 15" does not(may have an issue with it).
Anyway, just looking for feedback from other Titanic III owners.
                    Thanks, Pete

Anyone have the Dayton Titanic III 15" kit? I have the 10" and it rocks. Best value in my system by far. Thinking about getting the 15" and would like to hear from people who have it.

Here are links to the kit and to the amp that comes with it.
