    School of Rock

    Rented it.

I went into this not expecting much, and had a great time.

Definetly plan to buy. The story, acting, music, and humor was spot on. Jack Black did a great job!

Great movie. It falls in the category of turn off your mind and enjoy. I agree Nick, Jack Black did a great job. Don't you wish you had teacher like that when you were in school?

I thought it was ok, but I doubt I'd make a point of watching it over again. One of the few I rented.

            The D anyone ?

Have you guys caught checked out Jacks band Tenacious D?
As you would expect heaps of low brow humour but some very good musical send ups and the songs stand up by them selves.
If you like jack you may also enjoy the Complete Masterworks DVD which has The D playing live as an acoustic duo as well as all the HBO tv shows that first brought Jack and Kyle to notice as well as some extra short films of very suspect taste("Rock star sperm for sale" features a scene that makes " The something about Mary" hair gel scene look very tame indeed.)
            Also includes their music videos.

Warning only for the broadminded!!!( a sick sense of humour may also help)

I still would have to nominate High Fidelity as my favorite film that has a Jack Black cameo.

I love Tenacious D, but you need to have an open mind for it. Definately not for all.

I might have to check out the complete masterworks DVD.

I have been trying to decide on a Football game and was having difficulties choosing between, NFL Fever and Madden 2002.

I have only played Football in school yard pick games of scrimmage, and thus have never played organized ball.

My favourite bass player Jack Bruce died yesterday aged 71. A very sad day. Jack was best known for his work with Cream in the 1960s.

Last night I watched his 1998 DVD 'The Cream of Cream' as a tribute. It's half documentary, half...

Another post here in the Guide reminded me of a CD I have that I've enjoyed for years, but most people would never have heard of. I went to a big concert at the famous Red Rocks ampitheater in Denver, Colorado the summer of 1992 (right before my senior year of high school) that had about 6 excellent...

Why Rock only lasted 6 years
                by Bob
Due to the idiotic racial segregation and bigotry of the 50's, and due to the fact that a lot of the great rockers were (gasp) black, rock n' roll reached a very small portion of the white audience at first. Fortunatly, along came the innocent looking geeky Texan by the name of Buddy Holly, who created...
