    Resident Evil:apocalypse

If you liked the first Resident Evil, you won't be disappointed with this sequel. Be prepared for wall to wall action. And you just may have to adjust the volume a tad. My Denon receiver has the volume at -10 for movies and with this film I had to lower the volume to -15 AND IT WAS STILL LOUD. But I loved it. The soundtrack will have you ducking as bullets whiz around your head, and the low end will have you inspecting the foundation for cracks.

Storyline ? What can I say, it's really just a continuation of the first one with a couple of new plot twists thrown in. And the ending sets us up for another sequel. A very enjoyable 90 or so minutes.

    My opinion...

Personally I loved the first RE, but was kinda dissapointed with the sequel.

The first one was a great action/horror flick with a great soundtrack. The second one was like actually watching someone playing a shoot-em-up game. Some of the scenes, like the dive from the chopper and motorcycle/church scene were beyond cheesy and borderline "B" class.

I'm going to keep the DVD, but only because I liked the first one so much.
Kinda like owning the Godfather trilogy for films 1 & 2.

    Just my $0.02

This is a benchmark movie for those trying to back-up their copies, somehow i think Tristar has found a new way to not able to copy this movie, it's a real pain since alot of trial and error before I backed-up my copy. You'll need alot of software combos to crack the DVD since the .PSL is not sequenced to be read by any ripping software out there.

I'm with George, I enjoyed it. I always enjoy watching movies more in my home theatre than I do atthe local Cinemark, and this viewing was no different.

Im a video game freak, and a Mila freak. I loved the first movie, and this one was far better I thought. Great transfer all around. Can't wait for the 3rd one!

JD, we (HT Guide) can't be involved in posting about cracking DVD security coding. I'll leave the post this time in order to frame my reply.

NO discussion on bypassing security is allowed.

I'm kinda with Nicholas too on this one. FOLLOWED Mila from Fifthe Element to R.E 1, Don't think I like her attitude and/or her body in this one. I agree the SQ & PQ were great but she didn't do it for me. I will however collect this one to complete the set.

I didn't like the first one and this one was worse. What an awful movie this was. I thought maybe the sequel will be better, ehh... Nope.

Well, I enjoyed this film. I thought it did a good job of not trying to be anything but a twist on the zombie genre, with a videogame background. And as such, if you played any of the Resident Evil games, the movies aren't far off the path.

And very good PQ. Lot's of shadow detail. The sound is fantastic.

I didn't like where this one went. Not that the first one was great by any means, but at least it was true to its horror roots. This one's just a 90-min inane (and I didn't spell "insane" wrong) shoot-'em-up, albeit a very loud and reference-level one. Definitely top-notch for surround audio.

I finally spun my BD copy of Top Gun:Maverick last night, and really enjoyed it, even more than the original.

The story was interesting, the SFX were great, pic and sound quality were great, and they included some of the classic Harold Faltermeyer score from the original, along with a lot...

I caught an interview with Michael Douglas on the tube a couple of nights ago. Douglas said Oliver Stone has approved a script and will be announcing cast members shortly for a Wall Street sequel. Apparently Douglas is already aboard to reprise the role of Gordon Gekko and the film will begin with Gekko...

I find myself always in search of that truly reference sound quality DVD. Even if I may not be particularly interested in the subject matter, I can find myself sitting there in my free time watching it over and over because it sounds sooo damn good - I guess that's some sort of sickness - if someone...

If you read my post on 4/26, you know I had a very unpleasant experience with my first RSX-1056 - it shorted out when I first fired it up. I just received my replacement today - it works great and I am now a very satisfied Rotel customer. :

Andrew Pratt of CLub Rotel helped me (thanks,...

As the title indicates, this will be my first ever original design.

I have some experience building speakers as I've built NatPs, Khanspires and the matching WTMW center.

However, I have no experience with doing this from scratch so I will definitely need some help with driver...
