    Resident Evil: Apocolypse

Great movie. Goes more into depth to explain Alice and her past. If you liked the first one, then you'll love this one. Action sequences are good, and the acting is much much better overall. I jumped a lot, so I got my $$'s worth, especially for the matinee pricing

Maybe an overabundant use of LFE, but that will be manageable for home theatre when it hits dvd. Picture quality will, err "should" be most excellent for dvd.

I wont go into more of a review as noone here ever likes the same movies I do, except for David and our liking Underworld :T

Yep, I imagine David will comment on it, too, when he gets around to seeing it. Glad you enjoyed it enough to feel you got your money's worth. For, shall we say, a "contrasting view" :>) of the movie, Rotten Tomatoes offers several critics' reviews.

It would be interesting to know more about what made the movie "great" for you, even if no one else in the world agrees with your assessment. We don't all have to have the same opinions about everything.

First off, in all my years of being on this planet, I have never based any movie on reviews, especially ones from a so called "critic". I dont read reviews, as I can tell right away from a trailer, if I will like it or not. Even my friends that pretty much have the same tastes as me have tried to steer me away from a movie they thought was bad, and I end up seeing it only to like it a lot. Its been even easier the past few years thanks to the Internet. We have the ability to see several trailers and so on, which make the decision to go to the theatre even easier

Thats why I made the following comment..

"If you liked the first one, go see this one" Thats a pretty safe endorsement, and one I stand by.

Great action, I jumped 20 times, maybe more. Its the cheap thrill type but its effective. Great story all around. The acting was good for a "game to movie" type. Special effects were excellent. Milla and the actress who played Jill Valentine... HOT.

If you are a fan of the series, its a must see.

I go see all game to movie translations if Im a fan of the series.

I bet Im the only one who here who liked both Tomb Raiders :E

They had better make a "Halo" movie or the world will feel the wrath of Spoon! They are already making a "Doom"...hooray!

Off to the theatre, going to see it a 2nd time with another friend who has been waiting years for this day, lol.

I can't wait to see this one!! Saturday matinee, only 13 hours away!!!

I know, in the case of these types of movies, critics totally miss the ball alltogether. These movies are made for fun - not to "please the academy!" Puh-lease!

I totally agree. Why must people expect so much from every movie that comes out? Some supply different types of entertainment. LIke people expected a lot from Van Helsing. Why? Its not made to win awards, sheez.

I also watch the matinee too. I jump quite a few times  The funniest part has to do with the black guy. That guy is so hilarious when he met with S.T.A.R. I agree with spoon that if you like the first one, you'll like this one.

I thought the first one was okay. I'll probably wait until it comes to dvd. As for critics, well sometimes I will see a badly panned film just to see for myself and there are times when I am glad that I did.

Ah guys, I loved the first one, but this just didn't do it for me. I thought the writing was confused, like Anderson was pulling it in different directions. He's a good director, his writing, on the other hand left something to be desired. I was pretty dissapointed.

At least we get Shaun of the Dead in a few weeks!

I guess maybe his style is what was missing since he didn't direct this time....since the vote seems to be split everywhere I'll either wait for the rental or when it hits the cheap theater....even with bad movies I don't feel ripped off, when it's only 2 bucks
Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

Personally I think it would be helpful to their bottom line if Hollywood figured out how to make interesting and original movies again......

Here is a link to a friends Home Theatre, it was featured in the AV Interiors section of HT Magazine a couple months ago, its a throw back to the old styles of the 30's and 40's. He has a great collection of old sci-fi posters and vintage Movie Theatre items. Tom built the whole theatre by himself and...

Everyone in the house is sick (I'm at the tail end--the kids (2 and 6) and mother are in the thick of it) so I had to be nearby, especially for the little one. This meant no retreating to the HT room with the full audio/visual extravaganza. Rather, I spent the night (after the hockey game, of course)...
