Ain it cool news is reporting that the original Star Wars (I thought this was lost forever, and would never see the light of day) will be shown on Oct 26.

An obscure little movie called Star Wars will be screening at the Directors Guild on Sunday, Oct. 26. What is significant about this is that it will be the original, unmolested, Han-shoots-first version that played in theaters in 1977. I don't know why Lucas is allowing this, but it's happening, and it's open to the public. A rare chance to see the real Star Wars in a real theater. It's part of the City of the Angels Film Festival. You can buy tickets on their website.
    very cool indeed

So do you have to offer PROOF that you live in LA? :>) Way cool that they are doing this, but it might as well be long ago in a galaxy far, far away ... most of us who would like to be there won't be able to make it to LA. (But maybe this is a hopeful sign that Lucas is beginning to rethink his position on the availablilty of the original Star Wars.)

Hmmm, interesting indeed, especially since Lucas claimed that we would never see a Original, not Special Ed, DVD as there were no longer any original prints left.

            AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGH!

I AM IN TOKYO UNTIL DECEMBER!!! WHY NOW WHY NOW WHY NOW WHY NOW WHY NOW!?!?!?!?!?

And I can't even watch the new Indy DVDs on my FP until then to make myself feel better. In fact, you wouldn't believe how little there is to watch on Japanese hotel TV. Ooooh, bloomberg channel AND MSNBC/Japan. Whee.

I am asking for a raise to compensate me for missing this.
