Top five all-time favourite and/or best TV shows (you've seen)--an informal survey

A "pub table" topic that came up last week among some of my work colleagues. There was some debate over whether "favourite" had to be among "the best" so I thought I'd offer both options (of course there can be overlap).

Five favourite (no specific order):

• Original Star Trek
• Get Smart
• The Fugitive
• The Wonder Years
• Mad Men

Five best (no specific order):

• The Wire
• Breaking Bad
• The Wonder Years
• M*A*S*H
• Seinfeld

Obviously--there is no definitive right answer here.

All in the Family nearly made the cut for best (I went with M*A*S*H, but I could go back and forth on those two). I see a strong sci-fi component to your list.

Ummmmm....maybe. LOL I don't watch much TV. I haven't had a TV habit for years, in fact. There's been so little good sci-fi made that I tend to gravitate to the shows/movies that are just good shows first with the sci-fi component being the hook for me. I missed Firefly when it was actually airing, so Farscape would be the last TV show I made it a point to watch when new episodes were on.

That's quite a while ago. I probably shouldn't watch as much TV as I do, but with the nearly 7 month winter we had this past year, I ended up indoors quite a bit more than usual. I'd probably watch less if I didn't have a decent home cinema rig.
