Petition for Disney to release 3D Blu-Rays in North America

For those who may not have noticed, Disney has for whatever reason decided to stop releasing most new Blu-Rays with 3D in North America. It would be one thing if the movie wasn't 3D capable. Or another thing if Disney just decided to abandon 3D altogether. But Disney is now releasing Blu-Rays around the world in 3D, but not North America. This includes Big Hero 6, Maleficent, and even Frozen. These foreign Blu-Rays are often region-locked and unplayable in North America (region 1/A) unless consumers also go out and buy a specialized new BD player that is region-free. It's amazing that Disney also did this for Frozen, their mega cash cow of recent years. If you look in the right places, after all this time Frozen 3D can now be found as an import, and all-region. But still not released in North America.

A/V community has been griping about this for a bit. Petition now released. Would be great if everyone would sign.

Disney isn't stupid, they probably just figured out that Europeans are willing to pay, whereas Americans are not. And, don't even get me started on regional encoding.....

They also keep more of the revenue from domestic vs foreign box office. As such, withholding 3D from the home market in North America may be a ploy to get more people to see the movie at the cinema rather than wait for the home release.
