True Detective (2014)

True Detective is an American TV drama series starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as two Louisiana homicide detectives hunting a serial killer who has been murdering people for the past 17 years.

This is one of the best crime dramas I have watched. Usually I have to look to British productions to provide something as compelling and gritty as this. Not this time. Matthew McConaughey’s performance is mesmerising.

The series consists of 8 episodes and I’m up to episode 6. That’s not enough; I want more!

If you haven’t been watching this on TV then I recommend you hunt it down as vigorously as Matthew and Woody are hunting their killer.

Yet another HBO series I'll have to acquire on BD. I prefer that to subscribing to HBO Canada--cheaper in the long run.

I have heard nothing but good about this series.
The character development being rated as par excellence.
And I love Woody.

Yeah, HBO too expensive here. But I like the actors and have heard only good things about the series, so I'll be looking for it on disc.
