Did anyone else watch the first season of this? I thought it was down right amazing! And I can't wait for season 2 in April, I've been watching for the premier since the last season ended.

It's a well-made series, well worth watching. The books I'm not so sure about, they seem to ramble on and on with much material that I thought was boring. It's a good thing that this stuff has been largely weeded out of the TV screenplay. I hope I'm not spoiling anything, but be careful not to align yourselves with any "good" or "bad" guys, for the rather plain reason that sooner or later they all seem to perish regardless: the book series is supposedly not over yet (five books out, two to go) and I have this hunch that the author will have just about everyone killed in the remaining two books. :B- Bottom

I heard some younger guys saying how much they loved this show. I haven't seen a single minute of it, but I did see an ad recently, and thought it was most intruiging. I'd like to check it out.CHRIS

5 more days until season 2!
Chris if you have time to check out season 1 I'd definitely recommend it especially if you're into things like LOTR and such. I think it's much better done then LOTR though but completely different story as well.- Bottom

For me it felt too short. A side effect of having read all the books I guess. Unconsciously I was expecting a sequel to the books, until I realized that it's too early in the plot and Ned Stark had just been executed in the previous episode. Also I'm not sure the end came through clearly for viewers unfamiliar with the plot. What happened was that the guards were dispatched to find and kill all the bastard children that king Robert had sired with various women, but failed to get the blacksmith's apprentice.Last edited by bbggg; 03 April 2012, 12:15 Tuesday.- Bottom

Yeah, I kind of figured that part out after it went off and I thought about it enough. It was hard to remember last season completely until I really thought about it and watched it all the way through. I think a 2 hour premier would of been nice but HBO/Showtime doesn't usually do that.
By the way throw some spoiler tags around that [ spoiler] text [ / spoiler ] remove the spaces.- Bottom

I was puzzled to see the second episode released so soon after the first. Apparently this is what happened: the broadcast was shown on HBO GO and was intended for several European countries (the Netherlands, Poland, Slovenia) but not for US cable. I don't know if this was a one-off, or if it is scheduled to air early in these particular countries.- Bottom

I had watched some of GoT a while ago, but never did get into it. But for whatever reason, I decided to give it another shot, and I'm really liking it now. Just started Season 2. Catching up.CHRIS

Just so I make sure I understand about the season finale of season 1, the Khaleesi set a bonfire pyre for her husband, the dragon eggs, and the witch doctor, then she herself walked into the bonfire to kill herself. But the next morning, when the fire had gone out, she was alive and unharmed other than having her clothes burned off. (bummer) The fire had hatched the dragons. Yes?CHRIS
