    127 Hours

I was reluctant to go to see this movie. I wouldn't pay to watch a trapped animal gnaw off it's limb to get away. So, wasn't sure that this would be any different.

My wife saw previews and dragged me there. I mentioned to her several times that we would be watching a one man act about choosing between death and self amputation. Tried to discourage her with refrences to the Saw movies. But, we went anyways.

Much to my surprise it was engrossing and minimal gore. It isn't easy to direct a movie with such a simple storyline and make it interesting. But, Danny Boyle pulls it off.

For those of you that prefer to watch movies at home there is no reason to see it on the big screen but, be sure to look for it when it comes out on DVD.

That has to be pretty...

In Her Shoes much more than a chick flick
    by George Bellefontaine
This is a story of two sisters, an act of betrayal that drives them apart, and a grandmother, played wonderfully by Shirley MacLaine, that ultimately brings them back together. Toni Collette ( Rose ) is the older sister, who has been more a mother than a sister to the younger Diaz ( Maggie). Both sisters...
