    Children Of Men

Okay, I admit it. There IS one drawback to living on this island. I can't see Children Of Men as it goes into wide release today. It'll take a few weeks to make it up here. Phooey.

I have some seriously high hopes for this film and it's been receiving almost universally positive reviews and comments.
Rotten Tomatoes shows it at 93%!

Hmmm... trying desperately to make a baby with Julianne Moore? I might be able to handle that.

We saw it, pretty good movie.

Here is a hint, go to the bathroom before you see it, a lot of things happen, and if you miss a minute or two at the wrong time you'll be a little lost.

I thought it was alright, but not nearly as awesome as the reviews suggest.

            YMMV.

Just saw it this weekend at my local digital cinema (yeah, local as in Livermore!- a new Theater operation to boot!), and while it was a little uneven, some parts were definitely exceptional, especially in a first rate digital presentation.

A good digital cinema presentation to our local cinema plexes is like HD-DVD to VHS or DVD with letterboxing. No kidding. It's that good. Besides no shutter jitter or focus issues, it was pretty much razor sharp if the orginal film was. Rivals or exceeds the best 70 mm prints I've seen.

You need to see some better 70mm prints.

The latest D-cinema units I've seen totally rival a good 35mm presentation, all the clarity and steadiness advantages you list, but film wins a bit on color and the best DLPs still have dithering/motion breakup on fast pans and motion that film does not.

But the best 70mm stuff still has an advantage for real closeup viewing or extremely large scale screens.

                  X-Men 3 Review
                  by audioqueso
1am.. and I just finished watching all 3 X-Men movies.
First of all, I must say that I got a sweet deal at Best Buy today. All 3 movies for $30! I picked it up at noon and it was actually the last box set. So great deal there.

I never saw X-Men 3 movie at the theaters. ...

I am not a big X-Men fan so you can take what I say here with a grain of salt. I did find the first X-Men movie entertaining enough but have to say Wolverine just didn't measure up to it. It was okay and the blu-ray disc offered great picture and sound, but this is not a movie I'd care to watch again,...

Even if you already have the Advent Children DVD, this is...
