While several musicians have acted in movies dealing with post-apocalyptic futures, name one that played themselves.....but not as a musician.
Tom Petty is in the end of the postman (kevin costner) I believe Kevin Cosnters character recognizes him but he says something about not being a musician anymore.
Can't be sure haven't watched it since the theater.

Yup, it was Tom Petty. He's listed in the credits as 'Bridge City Mayor' and in the movie Kevin says, "I know you, you're famous", to which Tom replies "Yeah, I used to be".

I though about that, but honestly it's just as much of a series as Bond..

Both look different depending on the movie
Both series take place over many decades with little change to the character
            Both have few repeating characters
Both 'stand-alone' with little need for any of the other movies.

Now the Harry Potter movies would be more of a "series" though.

In what movie is there a shot scene where Michael Jordan jumps and makes a slam dunk from the half-court line?

Not one of Sellers' characters, but my favorite among the many great names in that movie is Sergeant Batguano (if that is, in fact, his real name).

                              (answer to the Strangelove question?)

                              In the meantime, here's another:

In the great 80's slapstick movie "Top Secret"...

                              1. What notable actor plays the lead role? (easy)

                              2. What's significant about the Swedish bookshop scene that takes place as the lead characters look to make contact with the resistance underground? (medium)

                              3. What kind of car gets its bumper tapped in the final chase scene, making it explode into a ball of fire? (challenging)

                              4. How many of the resistance underground members can you name? (hard)

                                President Muffly Merkin
                                Dr. Strangelove of course,
                                Captain Lionel Mandrake

The President's name is rather funny, given the definition of Merkin.
