    RMB-1066; Power Output

    Hi!

I have a Rotel RMB-1066 6-channel power amplifier. Reading the manual tells me it has a 6x60w/8 Ohm or 3x150w/8 Ohm power output. What I need to know is, what's the poweroutput measured in 4 Ohm, both bridged and non-bridged on this amplifier?

Thanks for a great forum and hangout place for Rotel fans. :T

    Atano,

The RMB-1066 is intended for multi-room installations or less demanding main rooms. Basically its power output is limited by the current drive from it's transformer to not much over 450W. So you get 6 x 60W or 5 x 70W or (bridged) 3 x 150W... Bottom line in non bridged mode with 6 channels driven yoou'll get about 75W into 4 ohms and when bridged it is not rated to support 4 ohm loads... (ie 3 x 8 Ohm loads NOT 3 x 4 ohm!

It's a great little amp, but not the source of bottomless cheap power, especially for 4 ohm loads!

I Would like to DIY an amplifier (no special requirements) but im not sure what the difference is between these two kits. Which one will sound/perform better, does the Toroidal power supply make a difference in relation to sound/power? They are both Class D however kit A only supports 200wpc @ 4 Ohm...

        2 x RB1070 Bridged V's 1 x RB 1080 ?
        by bleeding ears
Hi again guys, looks like I am going to have some time on my hands waiting for my preamp to get fixed so now I am pondering my next purchase.

I am considering using 2 RB1070 amps bridged to power my front speakers.
That should produce about 330 wattts per channel.

Rotel amp for driving 4 ohm sub? Alternatives?
        by SQconstable
Does anyone here use a Rotel amp to drive a subwoofer? I've got a 15" DVC that can handle 1000w RMS and 2000w peak. The specs are here: http://www.crucialconcepts.com/cc/Ro...20rfr3115.html

Yep, it's a car audio sub but it sounds amazing...

        RMB1066

Does anyone know how the RMB1066 when BRIDGED will be compared to the 985 mkII? I am thinking of using this amp in this mode to power my L/R/C. Will it be a step down from the 985 mkII? I currently use the 985 to bi-amp my front L and R channels. The Centre is bi-amp between my RSX972 and 985. The rears...

        Power Amp decision
        by feng
Hi, My first post here. I am after a power amp for the front speakers. Now I have narrow my choice down to Rotel. For money, I can get RMB1066 which is 60wpc X 6, which can be bridged into 150wpc x 3, or RMB1070 which is 130w x 2 to satisfy my music sense first, then take care of my centerlater on....
