Got my new 1068 last night...

...and I am very happy now. It sounds A LOT better, the OSD works, there is no loud hum and it didn't melt my new 12v trigger wire.

Anyway, after setting up the first unit, I was having some buyers remorse with all the issues and it not sounding any better than my Onkyo... that has since past.

I hope to enjoy my Rotel setup for a long time. Thank you to all who helped me through my long decision making process. :T

This is indeed wonderful news AJ, you showed great patience 8) .

Now it's time to sit back tweak and enjoy, it'll sound even better in the weeks to come.

Don't forget to calibrate your speakers and set your delays properly. These elements are critical and will enhance your acoustical pleasure.

        Regards,

I already got out the tape measure and Radio Shack SPL meter to calibrate. Turns out I only needed +1 db on surround left and surround right. My 'reference' volume level for 75 db for DD and DTS is 82 on the dial... that's really loud. I like my movies around 75, but they do sound great!

            RSP-1068 Melt Down With Pics
            by BassThatHz
Ok it didn't physically melt, but it had a "surge" like blow up when I powered it up from stand-by mode. Darn near took my amp with it, good thing the RMB-1075 is tank like. The adrenaline from the sound of sizzling B&W N803 drivers gave me super-human speed to immediately hit the kill...

            Hum with new RSP-1068
            by markmaple
I just picked up my RSP-1068 on Monday night.
I really like the unit, but I am having a problem.
I was getting a hum in my speakers. After much
investigating, it happens when I have the
multi-channel outputs from the DVD player connected
to the Rotel AND I have a video...

Well, I am one of those people that makes a decision, pulls the trigger. Then over thinks the hell out of it once it's done. :??

I've been catching up on my reading here at the club as of late, :lurk: and just called my dealer and asked him to put a RSP-1068 aside for me (replacing...

RSP-1068 DPLIIC Default Mode won’t stay configured.
            by Slice
Have had the setup for 2 months and everything has been fine until now. The other night I had company over to watch a movie. I activated Video 2 [assigned to DVD with Default Mode set to DPLIIC] but it came up in Bypass mode.

            The OSD System Status showed:

            Weird hum problem with 1068
            by Pez
Finally got my 1068 last night and hooked it up, unfortunately there was a pronounced hum coming from all the speakers.

Here is where it gets strange. The outlet I was using was the same outlet I was using with previous equipment and there was no hum then. In fact, the outlet itself...
