Does a RSP1066 make a good stereo pre

    Hi Guys,

i have been trying to extract the most out of my 1066/1080 with Dynaudio42's for stereo. the setup is meridian 606 dac with various inputs going in the CD input on the 1066. it sound sweet but i was wondering if i spent a little money can i get a 2nd hand pre that would do a better job, i have shifted towards music 75% from adding the meridian DAC.

What are the implications to adding another PRE

    Jon

P.S. don't have to be a Rotel pre.

If you do go with another pre amp that's solely designed for music it will sound cleaner then the 1066....how much better though is an interesting question. I'd see about borrowing one on loan before comitting to the purchase. You'll need one that has a HT bypass mode though so that you can integrate both units into your system.
