    Happy To Be Here

    Hi everybody,

It's been quite a road, but I'm happy to join your ranks as proud Rotel owners. About two years ago I purchased an NAD T761 from a local HiFi store. It was my first attempt at getting into the whole home theater thing. It was great. Classic gray looks with that classic NAD neutral sound.

Too good to be true. About a year later, the front right and rear right channels died out. Took it back to the shop for repairs, ended up with an Arcam AVR100 as a loaner. That was a pretty nice piece of equipment and made the 3 month wait (for repairs to be complete) much more bearable. Finally got the NAD back and I was happy as a clam. The Arcam unit probably sounded a little better, but it was much less flexible as far as inputs go.

About 8 months later, shoddy NAD manufacturing strikes again and the subwoofer preamp-out goes bad, so back it goes to the shop. Ended up with a Marantz 4300 this time for a loaner. Blech. The turn-around is much better this time around, only have to live with the Marantz for two weeks. Got the NAD back, and warily put it back in service.

Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago, and guess what? Front left channel dies. Back to the shop, and they're pretty understanding. They give me back my $999 towards the purchase of something new, I auditioned the RSX-1055 and here I am. Kudos to Bill Chrisman at AudioFX for the top-notch customer service. If you're in the Sacramento, CA area, definitely look them up.

I've had the 1055 for less than two weeks now, and I haven't been home much, so I know it hasn't broken in yet, but I am loving it. Great-looking, nice-sounding, and oh soooo flexible...

I've been a long-time fan of NAD (I have an old 304 integrated amp and 502 CD player that I still use in my bedroom setup), but I've seen some others here even have been having problems with their a/v receivers as well so I think their QA has gone way down. Now hopefully this will be the start of a long-term relationship with Rotel.

    My System:
    Rotel RSX-1055
    NHT SuperTwo x2 (front)
    NHT SuperOne (center)
    NHT SuperOne x2 (rear)
    B&W ASW 1000 sub
    Transparent Speaker Cable & Interconnects
Denon DCM360 5-disc HDCD changer (oops, don't need that anymore)
Old Sansui SR-222 w/ Grado Green cart + Sumiko Pro-Ject phono preamp
    Apex AD-600A (hacked)
Toshiba 32" TV (need to upgrade to a 61" Samsung DLP RPTV!)

Working on the new setup with NAD M50
      by JonMarsh
OK, this is going to be a thread about the new setup, or rather, a new build of an old setup we've had working at a colleague's in Germany for several years. However, some details are different, as there won't be a Sonore SOtM (well, not yet... maybe soon, maybe something else like an NAD M50) music...

      Advise on Amp repairs
      by urlawyer
I have a two channel amp with a bad right channel. I took it to a local repair shop. They required that I pay, up front, an evaluation fee of $125.00. A week later they called and said that the repair would cost $325.00 plus parts plus tax. I agreed to the repairs. A week later I was told the repairs...

      Impressions on the NAD M51
      by PewterTA
Well I've had my NAD M51 for over a week so far using it everyday and I figured I'd post up some impressions and opinions on the DAC. First I will say that my unit is a factory (NAD) refurbished which saved a few hundred bucks on the unit. I ordered it from SpearIt Sound up in Massachusetts and they...

First I will say that my unit is a factory (NAD) refurbished which saved a few hundred bucks on the unit. I ordered it from SpearIt Sound up in Massachusetts and they were top notice professional throughout the whole ordering process and are an authorized NAD Dealer. Upon arrival, I have to say I had all the factory boxes (double boxed) with the NAD sealed tape across...

      My .02 Cents

I spent the morning in my local Definitive Audio. I hadn't been in and wanted to hear the newest gear they were carrying from Paradigm, B&W, NAD and Rotel. This is my first review so go easy fellas.
