    RDV-1050 DVD Player

    Hi All
    My first post BTW.

I am seriously considering buying an RDV-1050 DVD today - $999 Aus.
I will be using this player in a dual role - as a CD, as well as a DVD player.
DVD-a and SACD do not interest me, so i dont mind SACD not being an option on this player.
I would appreciate some advice from any owners out there, as reviews are scarce at this point in time.
Are they a good CD player?
Would the next model up in the range be a better choice, and worth the difference in price?
Any Aussies (in Melbourne) know any good rotel dealers?
Any other brands that are around the above price that anyone can recommend?
The DVD will be mated with:
    Yamaha RX-V1
    RMB-1095

    All Suggestions/Comments/Advice greatly appreciated.

    Gday Rae,
Encel stereo in Richmond had the RDV-1060 on sale last week for $899AUD. Dont know if there are any left. Try Frankston Hi-fi, they have always been good to me. Encel is owned by the same owner as International Dynamics the Australian agent for Rotel so they usually have good stock levels and good ability to bargain down the price. Good Luck

      Thanks for the reply Kudeta

I have tracked one down, and paid a little less than $899 Aus.
Should be picking it up on Thursday.
I did try the other dealers you mentioned, but got the best price somewhere else.
From what i read, it should be a great little player

        Hi Rae,
Could I ask where you bought it from?
        Cheers

RDV1050 and problem with "spikes" on the 220v
            by miagi
I´m having a VERY annoing problem using the RDV1050 DVD. -Whenever I (or my neighbour for that matter) switch the light on/off in my/his apartment (or my refrigiator turns on/off), the sound dissapear shortly, as if the RDV1050 loses sync (Via coax) to the RSP1068... it does not affect the picture...

Who wants a new DVD player (RDV1090)?
            by csuzor
Please vote if you would consider purchasing the new DVD player from Rotel (probably RDV1090). Please also indicate what features would be essential for your purchase.

Given the current rumours, it will not have SACD capability.
What else could possibly justify upgrading to this...

            Hi Folks,

I have a JVC DVD Player XV-N5SL which plays music CD's at a considerably lower volume than my CD Player. As I am into 2 Channel Stereo it has never been a real issue except for the fact that my wife is starting to build up a collection of music DVD's which we both enjoy....

            Folks,

I've decided to get hold of a new DVD player that can do DVD-Audio and Video well. I'm shooting for the RDV-1050. Has anybody got any opinions as to why I would go for the 1060 instead:- what is the principle difference between both as regards audio and video performance? I'm just...
