    RCD-1072 Replacement??

    Guys,

I am approaching the point of purchasing a RCD-1072 and am wondering if anyone has some insight as to whether or not it will be replaced in the near future with a new player. I am looking for strictly a redbook player with this purchase and therefore am holding off on the RDV-1060 purchase until a univeral is released.

    Thanks for any help.

even if there is a new one, it might not be better, or as good. Other than that, I have no idea about a replacement. Im happy with mine so its staying.

      Thought

      Spoonman,

I hear what you're saying about no need to wait because it is such a good unit. I know about its several praises/reviews; however, I am not sure that I will be able to find a used one. If I can't find a used one I will be dropping $700 on a new one that may be replaced quite soon. Hmm...what to do!?

          Hi,

Rotel tends to leave its CD players on the market for 2 years or so (like processors)... The 1072 has been out for less than a year so you are fairly safe...

                RCD1072 problems...
                by Boombox
                Hi all,

Maybe this is not the place to discuss this, but I have quite a problem on my hands. A couple of months ago I got me the RDV1040 at an excellent price. My aim was to go for the RCD1072, but I had budget constraints. Times have changed and I am in business for the RCD1072. However,...

Found some info on the new cd player.

Its from a german site called http://www.gute-anlage.de (translates into www.good-system.de), which is a site from the german distributor I think. They have the RCD1072 listed at 899 euro with the following text:

                RDV (1040,1050,1060) or RCD1072 + RDV?

Hi. I mostly listen to music but occasionally watch movies. Since I place more value to listening to music should I get separate CD and DVD players? I have read that some people notice a considerable difference when playing a CD on the RDV and the RCD. If the difference is big then I would be inclined...

                RCD1070 or RCD1072 ?
                by Stev
                Hi
I have the option of buying a new RCD1070 for about 30% less than a RCD1072. Is there much of a difference between them ? Any problems with the earlier model i should be aware of ? The saleman says ther is little if any audible difference between the two models. Any thoughts would be appreciated....
