It plays CD-R's no problems, I believe that their may be some issue with CD-RW's.

Any recorded material is "iffy" at best. There are many factors that come into play. Lets keep it simple and say, if you have decent equipment are are making CD-Rs, then a CD player will more than likely read it. CD-RW is a different animal though.
