Thanks Kevin. I know for a lot of people pictures help make things more clear, so this should be useful.
I myself haven't gotten around to applying the fix, I just dread the idea of having to disconnect the 1066 and take it out of my rack, but one of these days...

I checked the BM on the 5.1 input of my RSP-1066 and (as expected) I noticed that a sub channel is created when connecting only 2 channels to the 6.1 input.
What is strange is that few people here who have done exactly the same test say that there is no sound coming from the sub. There is really a mistery : why all the models don't behave the same way ?

As to the differences?
Well, I always heard cars built on Monday were not the same as those built Tues through Fri. Much more likely to be lemons. Maybe pre-pros and receivers are the same way.

I've read through the posts and did not find an answer.
If I were to go and buy the 1066 today, would the bass management issue be addressed out of the box? The thought of needing to make this fix does not appeal to me.
