    Just a quick thanks -

I just wanted to thank all the guys who put together all of the information on this board (you know who you are).

After lurking here and in a few other spots, my HT is now 90% complete. The parts that you guys helped with were the RCD-1072 and the RB-1080... driving my N804s; it is absolutely fantastic.

Today, when it gave me chills, I knew I had register to say thanks for the help...

I look forward to reading more from you guys, keep it up!

    Cheers,
    Keith

        Keith,

        Thanks for the kind words

Enjoy your new system - it will get better with a few weeks running in.

PS - I hope you are bi-wiring those 804's to make them "sing"

        Geoff

            Geoff -

The truth is I have everything sans the RCD-1072 for about a month; the RCD was added on Saturday (No sales tax in Mass last Sat.). Everything is run in on the system, so things are nice.

Yes, the N804 are bi-wired - I have the newer design 1080 so there are two sets of outputs on the rear of the amp, which makes things even easier.

Have have also been using the 12V trigger for about a month w/o a single blown fuse or other problem.

My only issue was a ground loop problem once I hooked up my cable. I bought a Tributaries Ground Guard and the problem was completely eliminated.

My only reservation about this entire process is that I would have preferred a 3-channel amp to handle the center as well, but o-well...

            Cheers,
            Keith

              A Quick Preamp Question (RC-1070/90)
              by KEF
I have a quick question about adding a dedicated preamp to my current system –

At this moment I go analog out of my RDC-1072 into my Yamaha RX-V1400. I run the pre-out for my mains into my RB-1080, and then bi-wire out to my N804s.

When I listen to CDs, I set the Yamaha...

              by Moejoe
              Hi guys,

Sorry, a really boring one I know. my question is probably better suited in a different forum but everyone here has been so helpful on my other project. I'm in the middle of building some overnight sensation mtm/mt's for my parents living room and need to sort a subwoofer out....
