    1055 & dolby digital

    Is this normal -

Everytime I'm watching a DVD and I go to the disc menu or start the dvd after it was paused or stopped, the sound lags behind the picture. Maybe lags isn't the right word, pause might be better. There is a pause before the 1055 switches over to the dolby digital source and begins playing the audio. So there is a very short (1-2 second) gap where I'm getting video, but no audio. I hope I described that correctly. Is this normal or do I have a problem? It is an annoyance more than anything else. I just would like to know why it happens.

    Thanks,

    chris

Sounds more like a sync problem with the dvd player ?

    What's your player ?

They sometimes have firmware upgrades for this problem.....on cd's that you just shove into the player and whammo BAM!mo fixed a rooney!
Got a nice rack to show me ?

      Bam,

It's a Samsung that I bought a few years ago before I bought any of my rotel gear (not sure what the model # is). It is definitely a weak link compared w/ the rest of my system. Maybe the DVD player has a little delay in sending the signal to the 1055?

Any time you pause or change normal playback the 1055 has to re-sync the audio with the player. Some players do this faster than others. My Denon 1600 is only like 1/2 a second.. If you're having an issue, sometimes a FW upgrade will help as Bam mentioned or you might just try rewinding a few seconds so you don't miss anything
