    version update

I have downloaded the latest update and printed the manuel. I finaly have gotten a hold of a lap top so I do not have to unhook everything. Question I have is this an easy thing to do? I mean I am a bit worried, it seems easy, but I don't want to mess anything up. So, is there anything tricky I need to watch for or is there any differance between using windows 98 (what the directions appear to use) and XP? Thanks, I hate to be a neeb about his, but I really want to do it right.

If you can read and follow directions its very easy as its all well documented. There aren't any major differences between 98 and XP other then it takes much longer to complete in XP due to the way the OS deals with hardware. There's a thread a while back (do a search) for another version of Hyperterminal that I'd highly recomend you download and install as its a lot faster then the built in version available in XP...it looks the same though so the documentation still applies.

Thanks Andrew I was able to find the Hyperlink info and downloaded it. The upgrade process itself was easy and painless....unfortunatly for me I did end up disconnecting everything, but that was on me.

One question I have is, I seem to have lost my sub on my CD player. 2 channel previously on the cd I had sub and now I do not. Was this part of the bass management upgrade fix? Eitherway is there a way to get my sub back? When I go to test tone it's there and it is there with everything I have checked so far except CD, 2 channel. That has me wondering if I play a 2 channel disk with the DVD player if I will lose it also.
      Hmmm, anyway, any ideas?

Do a factory reset now that you have the new code in place and then check all your settings to make sure they're ok again.

By reseting the rsp-1066 I think you were talking about the default settings in the OSD? If so I did that and then went in and recalibrated the system and set up everything again and still no sub on CD in 2 channel. We did watch Hell Boy and had plenty of sub. I am watching a concert DVD now an can tell the sub is working, but it is on the DVD. So I am puzzled. If there is another way to reset the unit I am not familier with it.

FWIW: Hell Boy was pretty cool for surround and sub, as is the U2 Going Home DVD concert I have on now!

this may be a silly thing to try as you may have done it already, but there is 2 options on stereo mode (on my 1068 anyway) 1 says stereo and has the sub and also a bypass which is without the sub, so push the 2ch button again as sounds like you are on the bypass option (i prefer the bypass mode myself as dont like music with a sub)

I finaly got my sus to work in 2 channel tonight. What I had to do was to put the sub on Max in the OSD under speaker. I had it on yes, but when I set it to max it came to life. Course then the settings are all to hot, but I am sure I can wor that out.

              Thanks all!

Current Halo software version and update issues
                by Chris D
I talked with Paul at Parasound today, and got some good info on the update issue. Apparently yes, the current version available is 6.42. Version 6.49 was developed, but bugs were found, and it is not currently available to the public. If anyone inadvertently has version 6.49, they should contact Parasound...

Weird. I downloaded the DPLIIx update to two different computers I own, including the new MXEditor software version. Got through the update okay, following the instructions for both Halo Control and MXEditor. So far so good. I ran the MXEditor program Live Update, which downloaded a rather large...

Is Live Update working properly in your MX Editor software?
                by Chris D
Over the last year or so, I've noticed discrepancies in Parasound's MX Editor software program to customize the MX-700 and Sidekick remotes included with the Halo C1 and C2 processors.

It seems to depend on the version of Parasound MXEditor that you're running, and localized just to the...

MX700 Remote - software "live update" behavior?
                by netarc
So I _finally_ got around to programming my MX700 remote last night (ahem ... it's only been, what, ~2yrs - funny thing is I've been programming clients' remotes right&left, just never seemed to find the time to do my own!).

Have a question re: the MX-Editor software. The Parasound...
