    1066, ParadigmPS1200 & Klipsch RF7

Wanted to see if someone could guide me in hooking everything up correctly:

    1. connect the 1066 sub1 pre-out to Paradigm PS1200 low level input using a Y-adapter for left/right

    2. set both 1066 and PS1200 to crossover frequency at 80hz

I just got the REF-7's for fronts and I'm still tweeking the levels, is there anything I should look to adjusting (crossover frequency)? I know there has been many threads for bass management, I don't own a SACD or DVD-Audio player which I think is the only place I would run into double bass. Will I be all right for regular CD music and DVD movies??

First download and install the latest firmware to make sure you've got the bass managment all working properly. (see FAQ thread for details)

    2. set both 1066 and PS1200 to crossover frequency at 80hz
Ideally your subwoofer should have a crossover bypass input which is what you'd plug into...if not turn the sub's crossover as high as it can go so you aren't cascading crossovers (i.e. one on top of the other which can result in a dip in freq response between the mains and the sub)

As far as which crossover point to choose on the Rotel the recomendation I've been using is twice the F3 point of the speaker where F3 equals the point where its frequency response drops by 3 dB. Your speaker manual should have this statistic listed somewhere in the reponse plots for those speakers....generally though you're pretty safe picking 80 hz.

      crossover frequency

I currently purchased a pair of Energy Veritas V2.4's I have the Rotel 1066/1075. I set the crossover frequency to 60hz....Do you feel that this setting is correct or should I go higher or lower? Also something was mentioned about the crossover being global for all speakers. Is this correct?

Driver bandwidth and determining crossover frequency: Questions
      by dlneubec
According to Dickason, the general rule of thumb (of course there are exceptions) for the lower crossover limit for midrange and tweeters is to be at least 2x the FS of the driver, 3-4x is even better.

He also suggests that the upper level crossover for woofers and midranges should be...

      RSP-1066 80Hz crossover slope?
      by dbart
I have THX speakers that are designed to have a 2nd order roll off called for by a THX certified bass management crossover.

A THX certified crossover is one that has a 4th order low pass filter on the sub with a corner frequency of 80hz and a 2nd order high pass filter on the mains with...

      LFE over x-over freq discarded for 1066, 1065, & 1055?
      by BleakShore
I'm told that the BM in the 1066, 1065, & 1055 discards the LFE above the crossover frequency. That is, if you set your speakers small, and chose to set the sub crossover freq at, say, 60 Hz, anything above 60 Hz in the LFE channel is simply discarded.

      Now, this doen't sound like...
