    RSP-1066 80Hz crossover slope?

I have THX speakers that are designed to have a 2nd order roll off called for by a THX certified bass management crossover.

A THX certified crossover is one that has a 4th order low pass filter on the sub with a corner frequency of 80hz and a 2nd order high pass filter on the mains with a corner frequency of 80hz. Combine the 2nd order roll off of the mains with the 2nd order high pass filter and you get a 4th order filter that matches the 4th order low pass on the sub.

    My question is this:

Does the RSP-1066 use this type of crossover slope, even though its not a THX certified piece?

    Dave,

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe I read that the RSP-1066 has a 24dB per octave crossover slope for the sub output. This would be 4th. order. I am not positive what the slope is for the main speakers, but I thinks its 12dB per octave which would be 2nd. order.

According to the CS49326 application note (this is the chip doing all the work in the 1066), it does have a 4th order low-pass filter combined with a 2nd order high pass filter :

      It's on page 45.

        Hi all,
I have been playing around with the crossover settings on my Behringer DCX 2496 and my active 3 way speakers. I've been measuring and optimizing three separate crossover options - 2nd order L-R, 4th order L-R, and 8th order L-R.

To my ears, 8th order just sounds off, a...

6th Order L-R. I find it to be an easy to hit slope
        by fjhuerta
Lately, I've found out I can easily hit 6th order L-R, quite easier than I can get to 4th order...

I mean - 4th order is doable, but using a couple more pieces, 6th order looks a lot flatter and easier to work with.

The topology is quite simple. It's a third order electrical...

What slope should I use on the bass section of a 3 way speaker?

        Hi,

I was modelling some stuff in order to build the 3-way I've been thinking about, and had a question regarding slopes...

I can easily hit 4th order on the mid-tweeter, but I can't seem to find a suitable topology for a 200 Hz 4th order. Not even a 4th order electrical...

        PC as an Active Crossover

I have been looking for a good cheap crossover solution for a while now. I have tried doing a DIY passive line level crossover PLLXO. That worked great for about $13 but 2nd order slope wasn't sharp enough for me, plus the XO point is static so you just have to either get lucky or guess and build a...
