Elmac, I live with my mother, and I only turn things up when she's not home :B
I rarely go to 70 for movies, 64 - 66 usually is way loud enough since it's a small room.
Reference level is around 68 in my room, if I remember correctly.
I don't know how loud it is in other rooms, but I'm sure the neighbours (it's an appartment) can hear it pretty good (all 6 of them :twisted: )
But I don't play anything after 10 pm, so they're ok with that.

Until I got to your center channel, for a moment I thought I was looking at my speakers in your pics. Yes, I can just barely fit all on one wall. The 850 and the HTM1 are both very impressive. I am listening to the 803's for simply stereo (w/o sub) and they sound so much fuller than my old 7NT's, but need some breaking in time.

It was suggested to me to consider moving my equipment rack over to the left wall and move all down to the right, with the sub maybe going over to where the rack was, in order to get the speakers out of the corners. I would lose a little bit of the speaker separation by doing this. My wife likes the aesthetics of all on one wall. However, I my entertain the change for sound purposes.

If I lived with my mother, she would be in there listening all of the time as she loves music and used to sing semi-professionally. The wonders of a one button Harmony Remote would allow her to even be able to turn things on and off.

My Setup

I'd been trying to get a camera from a friend, and finally managed to do so. Here's my current setup, less the HTPC I'm working on. IMHO, not bad for a college student. The pics show the 1056, 1040, the Energy C5s and CC, as well as my Sony KV-32XBR450 with a HD signal.

The rack is a BL503 from VTI, which I found at racksandstands.com. Lovan makes something similiar, but this was much more affordable and is of similiar quality, and is very solid.

low budget HT room

Attached is my basement HT, could use more room, but had to make do.... other than equipment I have $0 in decorations, even used scrap wood for the riser on second row seating( all free ). So when I grow up I hope to be more like the rest of you..BTW, I had to sell off all my Klipsch's while laid off, but must admit that the Heil AMT's sound better to me (heretic, I know!!). But isn't sound subjective anyway? My Monster power and Dish 6000 are in the bottom behind the doors. This Rotel Club is the best forum anywhere and the rest of the forum isn't bad Either...

Here is my setup in my living room.
I got the Rotel RSP-1068 because of it's sound and not for the looks (well ok maybe a little bit.. ). I love the Rotel sound.

The RMB-1075 is connected to my rears and center for the HT experience.
Because I listen to music a lot i wanted to do something better then Rotel for my fronts (sorry guys ): a Bryston 3B NRB.

The Marantz SR5300 is only in my setup with 1 purpose: conneting my headphone to it. I am getting rid of it this weekend (sold it!) because
i am getting a Musical Fidelity X-Can V3 headphone amp this weekend :T

It's just simple super bright blue LEDs on the back edge of a 10mm glass shelf. The 1095 got a 12mm shelf, and I still dont trust it!

I moved recently and have been going nuts not having my main HT rig up and running.My new house has a den with a fireplace as well as a fair size (12'X16') livingroom.So instead of having to redo the basement and buy more furniture.I opted to convert my living room to a HT room.I should have it up and running today if all goes well.Here's a couple of pics.Gotta get back to my project.See Ya!!! :T

Hi all, I am a brand new forum member...and must say that this forum was very influential in my selection of Rotel. I must say I couldn't be happier. I have had these for a few months, but have just now got around to posting pictures (I know the cables are a MESS!!). The bottom rack is reserved for a power conditioner...haven't decided what to do yet though. We'll see.

I recently moved to Florida and (finally) had a (modest) room that I could use as a "theater". I went through a couple of preamps and amp combinations before I settled on the 1068 (dealer told me I got the first one in Florida) and the 1075/1080 amp combo. Again, I could not be happier -- though you guys are making me *think* I need a 1098...ugh (and, damn if that RCD-1072 isn't getting some raves).

I hope you enjoy the pictures, comments are welcome! I love the whole setup...the Samsung DLP is stunning and those Def Tech 7001SC's blow my mind (I think my neighbors, too).

BTW, I just this week installed the Silver Coax from CATCables on the DVD-2900...ummm....speechless.

Regarding the 1072, I have to comment since I got one last week.
It 's a good player, but if I could change 1 thing about it, I would take some of that excess treble energy and stuff it in the lower midrange.
That would make it sound less thin with voices.
That's about the only remark I have regarding the RCD1072, maybe the bass could've been a bit tighter as well but that's OK for the price.
I'm still considering moving up a serious notch regarding CD player, but I don't know how much more performance is available for let's say 2x or 3x the price.
I never had a dedicated CD player in my system untill now, but I have heard large differences on other systems with different CD players.
I'm still oggling a Classé CDP10, though I don't know they're still available and I've never heard it play OR seen it.
It's just that I crave it for some reason.
The new series isn't really my thing either, a bit too futuristic.
Over here they aren't out yet, coming somewhere in december for stereo amps/sources and somewhere in 2005 for the surround processors/multichannel amps.

The problem with the Classé stuff is that all the buttons are on the LCD touchscreen. You'd have to be like Adrian Monk all the time wiping fingerprints off that thing to keep it looking in perfect condition. Coolness factor is there, just entirely not practical. Price tag on that stuff is a little extreme too.

The suspension rack is a cool little thing. Wish I had one. :T
