    NEW RSP1066, RMB1095

After months of waiting I just picked up my 1066, and 1095. Both are in Black. I couldnt' wait, and opened up the boxes. To my delight, the 1066 unit that I received came with the RR1050 Remote (whats the difference from the 969 - other than no flip cards?), and a firmware update cord. Powered up the preamp, and quick check showed 2.24 software. In a matter of seconds, everything was hooked up for a firmware update.
Update was easy, and successful. The unit also did come with some interconnects (only a matter of time...).
Now, the 1095. Not an easy unit to unpack. Do they deliberately package it in that way to tease? After dismantling the thing, the beast was born. One huge intimidating thing... Nice speaker terminals too. The manual had some rca caps packed with it..no idea what for...dont really cae either..can't be bothered reading the manual..just wanna plug it all together and fire it up (not for a few more weeks..awaiting speaker delivery).

So, is it safe now to assume all new units will come with the RR1050 and firewire cable? And, as another member has already asked, has rotel already been tinkering with some units not having Bass Management (manipulation)? Ie, will i need to do the open up and desolder as mentioned elsewhere? I can't wait the 2 weeks to try it and then have to send it back...rather know now!

    Thanks guys!

congratulations on your new arrivals! i just got my new babies installed last month... same as yours. although mine did not come with an upgrade cord.

what speakers are you going to connecto to the 1066/1095? i have definitive techs all around: bp2000tls, clr3000, and bpvxps (i know, powered speakers... the 200w/channel may be overkill for some, but my system has never sounded better, and i expect to keep this amplifier for some time).

again, congratulations on the new units, and if you enjoy yours half as much as i do mine, then you'll be in audio heaven.

I LOVE my 1066/1095. I thought I liked my Mirage speakers (OM-6, OM-C2, OM-R2,) With the my previous Yamaha RX-V2095. I did not know what I was missing. They are a whole different set of speakers when connected to a real quality setup. They're a whole different set of drivers. Took 2 or 3 steps up. Then I got my CatCables. 8O Yikes. Made me a believer in the high-end VooDoo!

Enjoy your gear, and welcome to the forum.

The easiest way to find something lost around the house, is to buy a replacement.

As long as people will accept crap, it will be financially profitable to dispense it.

I'll be running Kimber Kable 8tc to the fornt 3 channels (all Dynaudio Contour) and Liberty THX cable to the rear 2 channels (Dynaudio Audience). Interconnects are still a product of deliberation for me. I think I shall wait and see what it all sounds like once it's been broken in, and then try out several different Kinds. At the moment I kinda like the local Eich\mann Bullet range, which has had exceptional reviews. But I Guess I'll wait and see (or should that be listen?). Anyway, I know that the amp is overkill (even for these 4ohm and 6 ohm speakers) but it's a thing not to be upgraded in the foreseeable future.
CD player also undecided. Had my ears on an arcam...but then I went and heard a Classe unit. mmmm..decisions decisions....

            by Joe M
Just curious if you guys would make this move??? Trade in a 1066 for a new B&K Ref 50 for $900. I will be going to my dealer on Monday for a full evaluation of the Ref 50, but I thought I get everyones opinion.

            1066 vs 1068 Initial Impression
            by Stevebez
Just got the RSP1068 in UK and took me not more than 1 hour to setup and plug it all in. Very easy to use and has substantial additional functionality over the 1066 that is practically usefull and they should be complimented on not just adding gimmicks all over the shop.

Just got dealers best price on RSP-1066/RMB-1095 combo, what ya think?
            by A*Caps
A local authorized Rotel dealer just gave me a price of $3,200 out the door for the combo (1066/1095). The units will be ordered from Rotel (silver), and he promises they'll have the new remote and most recent upgrades. What do you all think, should I pull the triger?

            Thanks

Which is the better combo - 1066/1095 or 1068/1075
            by RJS72
            Hey all,

I just recently bought an RSX-1067 and RCD-1072 CD player. I'm really loving the sound and enjoying the music right now...at least for the most part. For my main speakers, I have Axiom M80's ti's (excellent speaker btw), which run at 4 ohms. Now the 1067 will physically drive...
