    Versoin 1 vs. Version 2 on RSP-1066

I just purchased the RSP-1066/RMB-1075 combo last week. It was in part ot some of the great comments and reviews that I read on this forum. This is my first set of separates and I absolutetly think they are great. I just purchased my RSP-1066 and it has version 1 software on it. Is there any performance difference between the version 1 software and the version 2 software?

    Thanks

Due to a shortage of the original CPU used in the 1066, Rotel switched to a different CPU. The version 1 vs version 2 of the software has to do with which CPU your unit has.

I believe the latest versions are 1.49 and 2.25. All functionality is the same between the two versions.

The main difference from a USER acpect is that the component video swwitching backplane got a Major bandwith upgrade

      Version 1.xxx has a 10 MHz backplane

      Version 2.xxx has a 200 MHz backplane.

Again this only affects component video not RCA or S-VIDEO

Not exactly, both versions are available with 10mhz AND 100mhz. After a particular s/n on both versions, they began shipping with 100mhz component outputs. Just because you have a version 2.xx 1066/1055 does not mean that you automatically have a 100mhz component out.

THanks for all the quick responses.

          Trevor_J,

Is there any way to tell whether you have the 10 MHz or the 100MHz component switching capability.

          Thanks

            According to Andrew's research...

The 200 MHz bandwidth video switching 1066's can be identified by serial numbers higher than #2341001.

              Hi,

My RDV 1060 had firmware 2.0.8 and I know this one has several problems with DVD-Audio discs and progressive scan.

I assume the latest software available now is 2.1.2
I have a few questions to owners with that software installed:

              by netarc
So I _finally_ got around to programming my MX700 remote last night (ahem ... it's only been, what, ~2yrs - funny thing is I've been programming clients' remotes right&left, just never seemed to find the time to do my own!).

Have a question re: the MX-Editor software. The Parasound...

              Fellow Tag fans,

Looooooong time since I've roamed these parts. Ran the latest AV32R software the other night and I am pleased to FINALLY see the THX issue (where it kept switching off at a layer change, chapter skip of fast forward) fixed, but a new problem has come to play and need...

C2 software version? Where does it show it?
              by slayer
I finally hooked it up in my system and am getting it dialed in. I read somewhere on here how to tell what version of the software is installed on your unit. I just don't remember where and I have yet to find it on my unit.
Please help. I'm not sure it is one of the newer ones as it does not...

              1055 version and HD bandwidth
              by btrvalik
If you have the new version of the 1055 (version 2.X software) does that mean you have the higher video bandwidth ? I saw a post that stated which serial number of 1066 had HD video but I could not find the version of 1055 with HD video.

              Thanks
              Bruce
