Hi,
I was looking at some Rotel gear as an upgrade to my system. I am currently using a Marantz SR-780 to power a set of B&W CDM SE speakers (7's, 1's and a C). I've read that B&W's are notoriously hard to power and that Rotel amplifiers are recommended. I've never owned any Rotel gear, so I was wondering about the differences in amplifier quality between the RMB-1066, RMB-1075, and the amp that is in the RSX-1055.
My Marantz SR-780 has pre-outs for all the channels (5.1 DD) so I see two upgrade scenarios.
1.) Replace the SR-780 with a RSX-1055.
2.) Add an amplifier (RMB-1066) or (RMB-1075).
Am I likely to notice any difference in using RMB-1066 amplifier compared to the internal one in the RSX-1055? How different in sound quality is the RMB-1066 (in 5 channel mode) compared to the RMB-1075?
Thanks for any help!
