    Volume Ring LED

I picked up my RSP-1066s today. (I have to wait for my 1095s )

I read the manual and plugged it in when I got home. The first thing I noticed was that the LED ring around the volume control was not lit. I know the black unit is supposed to have red, and the silver, blue. Am I missing something?

    the n00b!

As long as people will accept crap, it will be financially profitable to dispense it.

The ring doesn't light up on either color machine...its just the shine from the lights that makes it appear it does.

Ahhh. It's a profit deal. (The Jerk)

I guess I'll just have to hang a small halogen above the rack.

      Thanks Andrew.

BTW I've been reading all your information. Thank you for that as well.

Well to each their own..personally I hate lights on gear and have resorted to unplugging them or coverning them with tape

I just checked out a silver RSP-1066 and the blue ring definitely does NOT light up.

Neither the black or silver versions light up...unless you shine a light one them

                    I'm sorry, I just couldn't resist!!!!!

Actually, I fooled myself at first. I had taken a few pictures with a digital camera several days ago and didn't look at them until today. I was quite surprised to find this picture of the 1066 with the volume knob lit. I knew I had read a post that said it wasn't supposed to be! I immediately ran into the home theater to see.... That's when I realized the camera's flash was the culprit.

I had a good laugh at myself....... and then came up with my little scheme!

You guys caught on way to quick though!

LOL!!!! I accept my punishment. I was actually thinking of starting a Yahoo Group for Rotel equipment until I found this forum. I emailed Rotel about starting a forum but never got a response back.

                          RSP-1068 question
                          by Jamil
                          Hello Rotel users,

I have a "newbie" question and have not found an answer to it in the manual. There is a blue colored plastic ring around the master volume control on the RSP-1068. Is it supposed to light up if/when the unit is powered on or is just for show? I did not...

How many of you would pay extra if the ring around the volume control truly lit up?
                          by Danbry39
Quite a few times, I've heard people frustrated that the blue ring around the volume control on Rotels doesn't light up, as it seems to in ads.

Let''s say that Rotel would have to up the price per unit $30 or so dollars, would it be worth it to you to have the blue ring of light around...

RC1090 volume dial blue LED not working
                          by vifferboy
                          Hello

I just picked up a RC1090 from Audiogon, the unit is in excellent condition and sounds very nice. I had an RC1070 before which always seemed a bit bright to me, the RC1090 is very smooth.

Anyway the one small downer on the deal is that the seller failed to mention...

                          1068 Volume Issue
                          by ajpoe
I've had my 1068 for a few months now and all of a sudden my volume is going crazy. It keeps jumping up really high even after I take my finger off the volume button and the same going down. I know the update made the volume go a lot faster, and I am used to that change.... that's not whats happening....

                          RC-1070 problem with LED
                          by benny
Hello all. I find myself posting once again due a problem with my RC1070 preamp. I am more than familiar with static shock, etc. that can occur with components. However, this problem is a bit unique. My 1070 Cd, pre, and amp are always left on. I get home from work one day and the whole system...
