What are your thoughts on the new firmware?

I just upgraded my 1055 with ver. 1.48. Am I happy?

    Yes I am.

Its great to have the volume number displayed at all times. Being able to turn the sub off is a step in the right direction. Could care less about the mute function.

I just really wish the multi inputs didnt double up the bass. I;m afraid the only way to solve this would be to ship the 1055 to Rotel for a "repair". If this is the case I would be willing to do this. Since my SACD collection is small I just turn the sub off for the Multi inputs and do all my CD listening through the multi inputs.

I am with you. Proper resolution of the bass management problem would be what most of us really want however, this is a good step forward. Volume on the LCD is good too although I have my 1066 behind a cabinet with frosted glass and it can be a little hard to see. I would have been really happy if they added the volume level to the side of the bar graph that pops up on OSD.

Technical question about RSP1098 multi inputs
      by Kreyfish
A question for those familiar with the workings of the 1098.

From page 19 of the manual-:
"The MULTI inputs are analogue bypass inputs, passing signals directly through to the volume control and preamp outputs, bypassing all of the digital processing. The RSP-1098 provides...

      RSP-1006 and MULTI Inputs problem
      by pbarata
I’ve recently discovered a small issue with RSP-1066 and MULTI Inputs.

In my setup I’ve a DVD multi-player (SACD/DVD-A) connect to RSP-1066 through a coax digital cable and though 5.1 analog outs. The analogs ICs are connect to the Multi inputs of RSP-1066.

      When I’m...

Huge sound discrepancy between the CD inputs and the Multi inputs...
      by Nicholas Renter
Wow...on an attempt to become more content with my RSP-1066 (as a pre-amp for 2-channel as well as HT), I moved my phono pre-amp from the CD inputs to the R/L multi inputs. All I can say is the difference of sound is amazing. It's like a whole new level of detail has been revealed (or maybe the analog...

What i like to do is redirect the two sub out (pre out) with cables (extrenal) to back...

      Multi inputs for DVDs?
      by Darren M
My RSP-1066 reset to factory settings last night before I got home. My wife couldn't get any sound as the default for DVD is coaxel and we have optical connections. Anyway, she played around with it for a while and got sound by selecting the multi-inputs (I only recently hooked those up for SACD and...
