I'd had an RA-1062 integrated for a while when a very tidy RB-1070 popped up locally at a great price. My intention at point of buying was to put the RB-1070 on ebay for twice the price I'd paid (having a little hobby of buying and selling hifi). However, hooking it up the pre-outs of my RA-1062 for a test and two minutes of listening prompted a quick application of man-maths (and my partner surprisingly not objecting to my now expanded amp setup) and it was a keeper.
Now a matching RC-1070 has popped up locally, so my question is, is there likely to be any noticeable gain from the pure pre-amp over my RA-1062 as a pre-amp? In one practical respect I like what I have; if the power amp ever goes wrong, I have instant back-up!
