Not sure if anyone is stil using the great RSP-1098 pre/pro, but if you do, you owe it to yourself to get a Schiit Eitr USB to coaxial box.
This little box has transformed the sound of the pre-pro to another level. I use Mac-mini with Audirvana Plus for playback upsampling to power of 2 sending it to the prepro through this little box. The sound is as good Oppo HA-1 headphone amp which has a lot more advanced ESS chip. Oppo only gets better when I upsample to DSD128 through Audirvana Plus.
Anyways I am just amazed by how good this pre-pro still is.
