This is no April Fools Joke folks. During the next couple of days, we will be picking a day to migrate HTGuide to a new server. We will have the same reliable service we have always had, as we are not changing Hosting Services, only moving to a new updated state of the art server! Support is working to coordinate things right now.
We will announce the date of migration from old server to the new server in due time. We hope to minimize downtime while the DNS propagates to our new IP address, and service is restored. But some downtime is inevitable.
Happy holidays everyone. This is my first post.
Can a rsx 1055 receiver be used to drive the tweeters of the front 3 speakers while a power amp is driving the bass? That is by using the preouts on receiver will the power section of the receiver itself be disabled?
I'm fairly new to ht and have made a fair number of purchases lately. In doing research and becoming more familiar with the hobby, I've decided that I'd like to move to seperates. I can't afford to do it all at once, so I'd like to buy them one at a time. I currently have a Marantz...
Maybe I should ask this one in the A/V Chalet, but this is where I've lurked, and this is where I started the Dayton RS 3 way TMWW's that are under way, with CC to follow. I like this place, most here know that speakers are the important piece of the pie! I will probably get one or maybe two A500 Behinger...
When I use the receiver subwoofer preouts to my amp I can awful popping each time the PS3 to the receiver loses HDMI signal. For example, as the BD starts playing through the federal law information and the production studio images the popping will occur each time a new image appears. I would say...
Why would using a pre/pro + amp still deliver "better" sound quality than a receiver + amp? If a amp was connected to a receiver, wouldn't the onboard amp on the receiver basically be disabled? if this is the case why is it still better to use a dedicated pre/pro than a receiver?
