Hi there I'm curious I was told the other day by the salesman that I need to use 12 Volt triggers to tun on the Rotel power amps as if I turn on manually Ill end up damaging the the Power button? Is that true?

I wouldn't worry about it Frank. I have not heard of many power switch complaints here on the Forum in regards to Rotel. However I will admit that I am guilty of leaving my Rotel powered on 24/7 in most cases, unless I leave for vacation or something, so my power button does not get a lot of use!Dan Madden :T- Bottom

It's not the power switch you have to worry about, its the relays: http://www.htguide.com/forum/showthr...95-malfunction
Leaving stuff on 24/7 might have been an option in the (good) old days, but it's almost unaffordable in the post nuclear age.- Mike

He was very lucky his Father knows electronics. Regarding the relay I guess that's for all power amp models. It's not the power switch you have to worry about, its the relays: http://www.htguide.com/forum/showthr...95-malfunction

I'm not sure what power costs in Germany but here in Montreal, my electricity costs me about $35 bucks a month or so for my apartment. I've heard that it's much more expensive elsewhere. It's not the power switch you have to worry about, its the relays: http://www.htguide.com/forum/showthr...95-malfunction

Sorry to take the thread off topic, but, according to this, in 2011, before they decided to turn off the nuclear plants and use wind and solar to make ships and BMW's, Germany was (is) quite expensive in comparison - Canada being the cheapest (relative to purchasing power)...

by BillGeeI picked up my brand new RSP-1068 Saturday, replacing an old RTC-970. In the process of hooking everything up, i discovered there are no power outlets on the back of the 1068, so I had no way to trigger my RLC-900 to turn on/off. A quick trip to Radio Shack and 15 minutes with a soldering iron got...-

Just got a query, i have a Rotel RSP-1066 and i am currently using its 2 12volt triggers for 2 power amps and i just got a third power amp. I was just wondering if i can use a 3.5mm splitter to have 2 3.5mm cables coming out of one 12 volt trigger so i can have all 3 power amps...-

by BeeBopI have an external amp I would like to use with my RX1050 stereo receiver - using the RX1050 as a pre-amp. I am using the pre-out to connect it to the amp and it is working well. However I cannot get the 12 volt trigger to work. Does anyone know what sort of plug the 12 volt trigger out requires? My...-

by azsynoHi Everyone... Yesterday I set up the remote 12 volt trigger functionality on my 1080. I used a AC Adapter from Radio Shack (thanks for the ideas on that!). Now I am left to wonder if I've set it up correctly. Here's the deal...
The Rotel manual says to leave the power switch "ON"...-

by bezoarI have the RSP 1570 and RMB 1565 which are connected by the 12 volt trigger. From having scanned this forum it seems that when the processor is turned off, the red protection light on the amp should flicker and then go out while the blue power light is always on. On mine the red protection light never...-
