I have the RSP 1570 and RMB 1565 which are connected by the 12 volt trigger. From having scanned this forum it seems that when the processor is turned off, the red protection light on the amp should flicker and then go out while the blue power light is always on. On mine the red protection light never goes out until the processor is turned back on. If the two are operated manually without the trigger the red protection light never comes on. I emailed Rotel tech support but have not gotten any response. Anyone else have this problem before or is this considered normal behavior?

You're right, the behaviour has changed with the 15 series. The red protection light stays on when the amp is in standby (with remote trigger enabled), and extinguishes when it's remotely triggered on, by say your 1570. You are experiencing normal behaviour!- Mike

by DrJRappI just got my 1080 back today after an extended stay at the Rotel hospital. It seems to work great. One thing scares me though, when I power it up the red protection light stays on for about 15 to 20 seconds. I swapped speakers and cables with a pair of bookshelves just to be sure it wasn't anything...-

by Nolan BDoes anyone know what causes this light to come on and stay on?
I just re-wired my setup and while watching 1/4 of the way through the protection light came on. I turned it off then on again and it went off then about 30 min later it came on again. I thought that perhaps it was something...-

by azsynoHi Everyone... Yesterday I set up the remote 12 volt trigger functionality on my 1080. I used a AC Adapter from Radio Shack (thanks for the ideas on that!). Now I am left to wonder if I've set it up correctly. Here's the deal...
The Rotel manual says to leave the power switch "ON"...-
