Lately I've been using the tape out's on my Rotel, sending the stereo signal to my headphone amp for all sources. I never really thought about trying the tone controls on the amp, figuring that the tone adjustments would not work through the tape out's but alas.......THEY DO !!.
I always thought that tape out's on amps were not affected by the tone controls for neutral recording reasons. I was shocked to find out that they do!. This is a serious bonus for me because some recordings have too much bass/treble and/or and some have too little. Now, I realize that I can fix this issue. :T
