I concidering purchasing a RSP-1098 but have to know, in 2 channel stereo if you have access to the base/treble tone controls?

After doing a search and reading alot of threads on this forum, i fear i may have either learnt alot or confused myself more than ever.
I have got a RSP 1066 (you figured that) and had some queries on how to get optimum sound out of it for 2 channel stereo from... -
Well I have both the RSP1098 and C1 side by side and I have had the C1 a full week and have played CD, DVD, Satellite TV's and am ready to give a general comparison of strengths and weaknesses.
COMPARING the CD source in Stereo the sound on the Halo was was much richer than the Rotel.... -

I am sure I read somewhere on this forum that the only way to get pure 2 ch stereo with the 1066 was to go thru the multi inputs as the 1066 doesn't have the bypass feature that the 1068 has.So yesterday... -
Hi guys, just wondering if there is any difference between tone controls and contour controls ?
If so, is there any advantage or disadvantage with each of them ?
