Hello guys. I am selling my RB-1080. I was wondering what I should accept price wise. Here is the ad

I think that is market value. You might get $600 or even $650 but that would be pushing it.

Just curious where you came up with retail price of $1500? I've only ever known them to retail for $1000.

As I replied in your RB-1090 topic, the RB-1080 usually goes for $500 - $600. But $500 is the low range, and at that price you could probably move a couple per week.

One thing I didn't ask is which version/age you have. There were three editions - the original version had red and black speaker binding posts, the middle version had clear WBT-style posts and the last and latest version had two pairs of the clear posts per channel. You might want to state which version you have, particularly if you have the middle or latest version.

There's another one listed on Audiogon for $650 and has been up for three days, but no sale yet. I think I would hold out a while longer to try and get $550 - $575.

You might have scared a few buyers away with the $700 price. I realize that you have enabled the Make Offer button, but not everbody bothers to make an offer if the price is too high.

I believe if you have enabled the Make Offer button and you receive at least one offer through it, you are no longer able to modify the listing price, which is why you see some ads where the reduced price is only found at the beginning of the ad text.

What I like to do (and you might consider for the future) is to only enable the Buy it Now button. This has never stopped anyone from still making me an offer through the Send a Private Message mechanism and this way you retain the ability to modify the listing price that shows in the line listings which can help re-stimulate interest.

Thank you for the info. It is the 3rd gen with the bi wire posts. I modified the price to $650. And also stated that new retail is in Canadian dollars.

I think you can probably get $600 for it given that it is the third version. I have the same one and have been offered $600.
