    my RSX-1057 died

Was away on business and my fiancee calls to tell me the RLC-1040 is showing a VIN message. We restart everything and the RSX1057 won't light up. I get home unplug everything, try plugging direct to another outlet and nothing. Funny, it's almost 5 years to the day that I bought this thing. I call my dealer and they're out of business. I call the closest local dealer and they say, while they sell Rotel, they don't service them (WTF)?

I guess I'll call Rotel customer service tomorrow morning... but what a bummer. Thing is, now that its out of warranty, if it's a power supply or something, it'll probably cost more to fix that it's worth.

If anyone has any ideas at all.. please let me know.

The first thing to check would be the fuses. According to the Rotel Fuse Chart (http://www.bwgroupsupport.com/reference/rotel-fuses), for 120V RSX-1057 units there are 5 fuses:

    Main Fuse: 1 - 8A slow-blow
    Power Supply : 2 - 2A and 2 - 3.15A slow-blow

They are not accessible from the rear panel and you would have to locate them on a circuit board inside the unit. The Main fuse would be the most likely suspect. With the power cord disconnected, pop the fuse out of its holder and test it with an ohmmeter or test light. Although the majority of blown fuses will either have a very visible broken/melted element and/or blackened glass, that's not always the case if the element has only melted or separated at the end cap.

Hopefully, that's all it is. Good luck.

      RB-1095 fuse change
      by tomasito
      Hello,
Has anyone changed the fuse in a RB-1095.
I don't get audio coming out of the rear channe, I think one of the fuses is blown. I opened the 1095 and the fuses are buried way in the PCB.

I experienced this with the 1080, It was a blown fuse. The fuses in the RB-1080...

      RB-991 keeps blowing main fuse
      by kingwilliam
      Hi all...

The problem: My RB-991 blew its main 12-amp fuse the other day (the fuse you can easily change from the back). I tried 10-amp fuses, but blew three in a row. No other components or speakers were hooked up to the amp. I unplugged the amp from the wall before swapping fuses....

      Help.

I think I have a blown fuse in my RC1090 preamp. I took of the cover and saw that the fuse had a clear cover over it with a warning do not remove unless a trained tech. I suppose the warning is because of the power supply, but by just looking at the fuse it looks broken. Its a very...

      RB-1080 Left channel fuse blown
      by DL86
The left channel on my 1080 has blown and it seems the fuse has melted away on the channel. Is this an indication of something gone wrong with the amp from an over current? Still searching for a correct replacement fuse.

Help on which fuses to get
      by belzarrath
Last week I blew two fuses in my RB985. The fuses are to old to read.
I believe they are a 6amp 125volt porcelian fuse. I do not know if they are fast or slow blow fuses, I assume it is fast blow.

Can anyone verify the type of fuses which I need. I am also having trouble finding...
