    Biamping rb 1070s

    anyone ever bi-amp 2 rb 1070s been looking for a 1080 ,but thought this might be a good option,or not?

    Most of the time, a more powerful amplifier works out better than two smaller amps bi-amped, the reason being the bass frequencies to the woofer use a lot more power than the high frequencies to the tweeter or tweeter/midrange.

    The larger power supply and output devices in the larger amp (RB1080 @ 200W) can deliver more reserve power and current for bass demands than it can from the smaller amp (RB1070 @ 130W) particularly since the demands are not always equal between channels.

    If the woofer and tweeter sections used equal power, the nod would go to the bi-amp setup, but for most speakers, particularly two-ways, the power split between low and high is more like 80%/20%.

    On the other hand, if you added the RB-1080 for the woofers and kept the RB-1070 for the tweeters, you might obviously see an improvement over the RB-1080 alone.

      Thanks Steve, been looking for a 1080 or 1090, my 1070 is a wonderful amp,but more power and headroom needed for my gr20s
