    Emotiva USP-1 & Rotel RSX 1065

    Hello!

Interested in purchasing the Emotiva USP-1 to increase the quality of my 2 channel listening experience, especially LP's. I currently have the Rotel RSX 1065 and would like to use it's internal amplification to drive the signal from the USP-1 as appose to purchasing a separate amp. Has anyone done this and what were the results?

    Thanks!

The RSX-1065 has preamplifier outputs to drive an external power amplifier, but there are no power amplifier inputs to directly drive the Rotel's power amp section. You would have to plug the USP-1 into one of the Rotel line inputs to be able to utilize its internal power amplifiers, in which case you would be sending the signal through two preamplifier sections and two volume controls, and wouldn't likely improve the sound.

To take advantage of the USP-1 HT Bypass properly, you would need an external power amplifier.

What are you presently using as a phono preamplifier with your turntable? Perhaps an upgraded external phono preamplifier might help improve the sound of your LPs. You can also plug the phono preamplifier into the L and R inputs of the MULTI CH INPUT (if not already being used) to have the purest analog path through your reciever.

I'm currently using an AudioTechnica Phono Preamp(cheap), but I believe I'm using the Tape Inputs, so I will try the Multi Inputs instead. Thanks again!

Questions about RSP 1066, RSX 1065, and RSX 1055
            by davisj
I am a new member and could use some help with my new HT decision. I just got a projector and will buy the rest of my system by next week. I am ready to go with Rotel for the preamp, amdp, and probably the DVD/ CD. All in the family you know. I am considering the RSP 1066 with amp, RSX 1065, and RSX...

            RSX-1065 vs. RSX-1055
            by Glenn
Does anyone know, aside from the power difference, if the internals and layout of these two receivers are basically the same, or is the RSX-1065 actually a step up, quality and parts wise? I'm trying to determine the real difference between these two products.

            The RSX-1055 is actually...

            RSX-1065 Issues
            by Arnold van Oostrum
Like the RSP-1066/RSX-1055 the RSX-1065 also has some point that need to be enhanced or fixed.

The RSX-1065 has some flaws in decoding the sound format.
            1) There seemes to be no difference in normal DD5.1 and DD5.1 EX sound. With both formats the RSX-1065 uses the CB speakers....

Hello, just got here and read a lot of stuff about the RSP-1066 and it's similarity with the RSX-1055. I understand you guys are enthousiast on the RSP-1066.

But, how about the RSX-1065? I thought it was comparable to the RSP-1066, but now I don't know anymore.

            What's different...

Hello everyone, after months of looking around, Ive finally decided to spend a bit more and buy a Rotel rsx-1065 receiver. I used to have a pioneer VXS-D908 THX ultra receiver but after listening to the Rotel, i was dissappointed in the Pioneer and decided to sell it. I've looked at other brands including...
