    Rotel / Emotiva?

    hello all,

would you switch a rotel-rsp1068 for home theater use only for the $200 cheaper emotiva umc1? the rotel rsp1068 would be used for 2-channel sterio only?

I know the UMC-1 was a bit problematic for people early on. I don't know if they sorted it all out or not. This thread on AVS seems to be the place to research it. It hasn't had any activity since March.

I think Emotiva is releasing a newer model processor sometime in early '12.

I've got a RMB-1575 hooked up to a UMC-1 and enjoy the combo.
        Sounds pretty clean.
yes the UMC-1 still has a bug or 2, but nothings a show stopper.
It's an awesome unit for the price.
and, no, I don't use their native Eq feature. I just use a decibel meter and I'm good to go.

Rotel 1069 or to-be-released Emotiva processor?
              by kmcheng
Has anyone done a comparison of Rotel vs. Emotiva in terms of their processors? I am about to pull the trigger on the Rotel 1069, but then I came across the Emotiva UMC-1. The Emotiva unit has not been released yet. However, I am wondering if anyone has listened to some previous versions of Emotiva's...

              by june
              Hello All,

Was your sound in 5-channel sterio while watching Heroes on 11/06/06? We use Comcast Cable for HD in the Philly area. All other HD channels was okay for sound. Maybe it was a NBC issue.
