RB-1572 vs RMB-1575: Any Difference In Sound ?
I have not compared the two amplifiers.
But although they both have amplifier channels of 250W @ 8 ohm, the ICEpower modules and power supply configuration differ between them.
The RMB-1575 uses two 500ASP modules with integrated power supplies for Left and Right channels. The ASP modules' power supplies are also used to power three 500A modules for Center, Rear Left and Rear Right.
The RB-1572 uses two 500A modules that are powered by a separate Rotel-built power supply.
The implication would be that under 5 channel use (or even 2 channel use ?) the RMB-1575 might not might perform quite as well as the 2 channel RB-1572 with its Rotel-built dedicated power supply.
This is of course speculation, but why then would Rotel go to the trouble of building a separate power supply when they could have more easily just used two 500ASP modules with integrated power supplies for the RB-1572?
BTW, it's always helpful to have a meaningful topic title, i.e. instead of "any difference in sound?", perhaps "RB-1572 vs RMB-1575: Any Difference In Sound?".

by goskersHello All,
I thought some of the gurus around here may be able to give some good advice regarding the design and building of a good/great power supply for a linear amplifier.
I am going to be building a multichannel amp for use with an active speaker setup. The amp modules...-

by begoodLast week, my SSP-300 started to emit a high pitch sound and the will not power up. I unplugged it for a while to see if it would reset, but no luck. I removed to cover and determined the high pitch sounds is coming from a AC/DC power supply (the only part that is not made by Classe). I found the...-

by HMenkeDoes anyone know of a cost-effective, commercially available +/-15V DC power supply with low ripple and adequate voltage regulation? I'm looking at building this active high-pass rumble filter for a ported sub:

I am about to pounce on a new case, however I can buy this case with a 300 watt power supply included or a 420 watt power supply.
What would be sufficient. In what I have seen so far, the 300 watt size seems to be most common. So why would there be a 420 watt supply available? What would... - Loading...
