    New to Rotel and confused

    I have B&W speakers (683's) and starting to shop for a new surround sound receiver, but emphasis is still on sound quality.

    Rotel keeps coming up but I am confused with their product line-up. What is the progression? From older to newer:

    RSX 1056
    RSX 1057
    RSX 1058?

    At which point is HDMI 1.3 available?

      RSX 1056 no HDMI
      RSX 1057 has HDMI but it's a switch
      RSX 1058 has 1.1 HDMI

      RSX-1550 has 1.3 HDMI

      You can enjoy HD sound with 1.1, you just need a BD player that can decode it, then set sound to PCM instead of bitmap.
