Rotel RMB 1095 Problems with the left front channel

Hi! I want to check on the fuse because I am not getting any sound from the left front speaker but I'm not sure. All the channels are working properly. Has anyone had an issues like this? Also does anyone know how to find the circuit diagram for the RMB1095? Can you send the diagram to me if you have/find it?
    Thank you very much.

    Hi Longmy,

I also have the RMB1095 and will look to see if the owner's manual has anything like that in it. Not sure what you mean by "all the channels are working properly" so will assume you are trying to troubleshoot the problem with your left front speaker not producing a signal.

    But, first off, let's try

    (1) connecting your left front speaker wire to a different connection on the rear of the amp, say, the center speaker connector. If you get a signal, we can pretty much rule out the speaker wire or the speaker itself. If you do not get a signal, then

    (2) try a working speaker wire, like the one that connects your right front speaker to the amp, use that one for the left front and see if that resolves the problem. If so, it is likely the speaker wire so replace it with new.

Second, if all the speaker wire tests demonstrate good wire let's try to do some trouble shooting and narrow the problem if possible in terms of the interconnects and processor.

    I would

    (1) disconnect the RCA jack from the left front input on the rear of the amp and plug it into one of the other inputs, say your center input and see if the center speaker has a signal. If it does not have a signal, then the problem is likely in the interconnect (rca cable) between your processor and the amp or with the processor itself. Then

    (2) try using a different interconnect in this case to see if it resolves the problem. If you get a signal, the issue was the interconnect, if not, the problem may be the processor.

If you get this far without solving the problem, then the fact is you are not sending a signal from the processor to the amp. There are at least two likely causes for this: a faulty processor channel, or a problem with the left front signal not being sent from the source component, for example a dvd player, to the processor. If you are using the analog 5.1 signal from the dvd player, then

    (1) check the left front rca cable to make sure it is good and well-connected by swapping it out with a channel that IS working and see if it still works. If not, then that cable may be your problem. If so, it goes back to the processor as the issue and

    (2) if you are using HDMI cabling, try another HDMI cable that you know is working for all channels and lastly,

(3)you may have to see your dealer about that one.

I likely left out some things but this should help you get started.

      Hi Andy
The fuse isn't blown and I put it back together and the left front speaker is working now,but I have one more question.
I have an outlaw Model 990
      7.1 Channel Preamp/Processor
I also have an emotiva 2 channel and
      Rotel 1095.
Okay when I turn on to listen to my music with the seven channel stero it works but on the screen on the Processor, it only shows 5.1 channel. To the rear left and right speakers, it doesn't say that they are on but the are on. I can hear them. Do you know why it does this?

I sometimes have the same issue, I think it's just a dry(ing) joint on the RCA connector.

          Hi Longmy,

Not sure about that one since I don't own an Outlaw processor and am not familiar.

I guess the first thing I would check is to see if I have selected the 7CH stereo mode on the Outlaw rather than the 5CH stereo mode. On my Rotel RSP1570, there is a selection for either 5CH or 7CH, so am assuming the same would be the case with the Outlaw.

The processor (Outlaw) may still send a signal to the Emotiva in 5CH stereo so you would get sound to all speakers that are connected via an amplifier. The difference might be once you send a dedicated 7.1CH signal from a disc that contains such information (e.g. 7.1 dolby true digital or dts master) in which case you might NOT get sound from all speakers UNLESS you have told the Outlaw to function in the 7.1CH mode.

So, still points back to the Outlaw and the settings you have made there for me. Let us know how you fare, and glad you were able to recover the sound from your left front.

I had the same experience with my center channel previously, and when I send in to the service center the service guy couldn't find any fault because the center channel was working again. However, the service man was pretty nice he upgraded a resistor, of each of the 5 channels, to a higher quality and bigger ones (I think the rating is the same, sorry not technical). I was told it is too small for the high power amp, anyway the parts cheap is the labour that is bulk of the servicing charge.

It lasted 4 years and recently the center channel "kaput" again, I send it back 2 weeks ago to the same service guy and according to him it is the same resistor that failed. The amplifier is back after two days and everything seem to be humming along beautifully again

I hate to send the amp for servicing carrying this monster is breaking my back.

Little bug relative to front panel display ?

              Hi all

I would like to know if you noticed the same thing.
When playing a DVD soundtrack encoded in DD 1.0, the front panel display let me believe that the RSP-1066 is decoding a 5.1 soundtrack while only the center channel should be displayed.

I am considering purchasing a second Rotel 1095 unit to biamp two 1095 units (2x 200w x 5) which would allow me to biamp my center and two fronts (six channels) and then use a single channel for surrounds and rears. I was thinking of upgrading the fronts by adding a 2 channel amp while now getting...
