No output to surround speaker in RSX-1067

The last couple of nights I noticed that my right rear speaker was making some static noises: tonight it stopped making any noise. I exchanged the left and right speaker leads at the receiver: then the left wouldn't work. The surround speaker indicators are lit in the display.

I am using the 7.1 stereo setting to test.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    John

Run some cables to the multi-channel inputs and see if you get sound.

    No: Amp problem
    Yes: digital(main) board problem

I had been thinking about doing a surround speaker similar to one Dickason did in the Loudspeaker Design Cookbook. His contention is that surround speakers present a completely different design problem than the typical LCR speaker. They should have a more diffuse sound field. His design had one front...

      by bartk
Is an LCR-600 usable as surround speaker ? reason I ask is that, in my current setup I'm using 1 LCR-600 as center back. What I was thingking of doing is to move my current surrounds (DM602's) to the rear, and getting an additional LCR-600 to be used as surround.

      other option would be...

Looking for suggestions on a good surround speaker that would match well with my Kef XQ fronts. Budget max $1k.

Would prefer getting something that can be wall mounted

      Recommendations for rear surround options
      by Unclejunebug
I recently built some Swope MTM's (which I love) as main LR's for my home theater and I was originally planning on building the center and rear surrounds to round out the set. I'm still planning on the center but now, because of how my living room is setup, I'm wondering what the best course of action...

      Surround speaker project
      by GrahamT
      Objective:
To design speakers for use in the surround channels that produce a very wide, even, diffuse sound field, for as little money as possible to achieve the desired results. This project is far more about the design process for me than the end result. That is why the budget is low. But...
