Pass DTS HD master and true HD?

How can I get the 1550 to pass DTS HD master and True HD audio through the optical out?

Reason I ask. I have a pair of pioneer wireless surround headphones that I use late at night. There is no issue when I select and play normal DTS or Dolby Digital tracks from blu rays- but last night i tried to select the DTS master audio track and I get silence.

Are these tracks only passable over HDMI?

Is it possible this will be allowed through a future update?

No. Optical and Coax digital (S/PDIF) are not capable of passing uncompressed multi-channel sound and never will be. They lack sufficient bandwith I believe.

          Using a non-HDMI processor for DTS-HD and True-Dolby

          Hi,

I've been looking at a number of bluray players and some have either 5.1 or 7.1 analog output along with onboard decoding of all the latest formats/codecs, if my proccessor/receiver has 5.1/7.1 analog inputs can I not just connect it via those to receive DTS-HD and True-Dolby?

          Hi.

I have connected my PS3 with HDMI to my Rotel RSP-1570.
The PS3 sound settings are set (Settings->Sound setting->Audio Output Settings ->HDMI-Automatic->Setting List, and all options are ticked off).

          I am confused:

I heard that if you have a blu ray player like the Sony BDP-S550 that decodes DTS HD Master Audio and Dolby Digital Tru HD hooked up to a receiver that does not have the capability to decode these format but has HDMi 1.3 that you can still have the audio in the movies in...
