1550 top finish is speckled?

Just picked up a new 1550 Rotel silver.
The top cover of the receiver has a speckle pattern to the finish. It only appears on the top where the vents are. The sides are clean and smooth.
Is this normal? I'm not sure if part of the design or just a sloppy finish.
I'm not sure how to post a photo.

Yes, its normal - I've noticed this finish on the 15 series components too. It doesn't look too bad from a distance ;-)

cool.- Yeah it's by no means a major issue since it's pushed in the cabinet. But I was concerned it may have been an indication of poor QC. Not the case.

RSX-1550 setup

I am a first time buyer of ROTEL. Struggling with the OSD / MENU setup for going thro the system status screen.

I am connecting a DVD player, my TV and also possibly a ROTEL amplifier.

Appreciate any help regarding setup.

Speckled paint = Poor Quality?!

I actually find it nice. Gives it a textured look. I guess they could of used a hammered paint finish instead. That's what I used to get my silver front face plate HTPC to mix into my 15 series Rotel gear. Most high end gear I see even with a silver face plate has a matte black enclosure. I'm glad they at least used something of a similar color.
